Database Development and Database Applications

We specialise in creating database applications from small 1 PC systems to large client-server multi PC systems.

Below are just a few suggestions of where we have found databases have been used...

Conversion of existing Excel spreadsheet - we can take your existing Excel spreadsheet and convert it into a proper database with frontend for you to manipulate it. Frontends are usually written in Visual Basic which is a very flexible, user-friendly interface.

Database conversion/upgrade - we can take your existing database (i.e MS Access) and convert it into a SQL Server database. This then enables you to go from a database serving 1 PC/user to a multi client-server setup.

Convert from pen and paper to database system - you may not even have any type of electronic data storage system in place. You may just be writing your information down using pen and paper. We can write you a database system which will be easy to use and highly functional - you'll wonder why you hadn't used a database sooner!

Database Types

For large database solutions we use SQL Server or MySQL. For smaller systems where the software is to be run on just one PC then we use SQL Server Express or Microsoft Access. Obviously the choice as to the database you use can be up to you but these are what we recommend.

User Interfaces

If a frontend user interface is required as part of your database solution we can provide this as well. We use Visual Basic as our programming language of choice. This gives us the ultimate flexibility in what we can offer you which in turn makes sure you get what you want.

We have years of experience using Visual Basic in software such as Stock Systems and Business Invoicing Systems. This can be linked into small PC based databases, large LAN (local area network) based databases or even web server databases which enable you to use your software whilst on the move via your internet connection.
